Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BattleMechs, including the game, its updates, any online features, accounts, purchases and this website (together, the "Game"). The Game is provided by E. Abdulrahman, an individual developer ("we", "us"). By installing, buying, accessing or playing the Game you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Game.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services without parental consent, whichever is higher. If you are under the age of majority where you live, your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use of the Game, including any purchases.
2. Licence to play
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and play the Game for your own non-commercial entertainment. You may not:
- copy, sell, rent, sublicense or distribute the Game or any part of it, except as allowed by the platform you obtained it from;
- reverse engineer, decompile or modify the Game, except where the law expressly permits this despite this restriction;
- use cheats, bots, exploits, automation or unauthorised third-party software that affects the Game or other players;
- remove or alter any copyright, trademark or other notices.
The Game is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights not expressly granted to you.
3. Accounts
Some features may require an account, which may be created with us or through a platform such as Steam. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity under your account. Give accurate information and tell us promptly at ealkhan123@gmail.com if you believe your account has been used without permission. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, shared or transferred.
4. Purchases and refunds
- Where you buy. The Game and any paid content may be sold through Steam or directly through our website or a reseller we name. The store or payment provider processes your payment under its own terms.
- Steam purchases are subject to the Steam Subscriber Agreement, and refunds are handled under Steam's refund policy.
- Direct purchases may be refunded within 14 days of purchase if you have not substantially used the content, and otherwise where the law requires. Contact ealkhan123@gmail.com with your order details.
- In-game items and currency. Virtual items, currency or unlocks have no real-world monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and are a licence to use that content in the Game, not property you own. We may change or rebalance them as part of updates.
- Your legal rights. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you have under the law of your country, including statutory rights to a refund or remedy for faulty digital content.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Game to break the law; harass, threaten or impersonate others; interfere with servers, networks or other players' enjoyment; gain unauthorised access to systems or accounts; or exploit bugs for unfair advantage. If you find a bug or security issue, please report it to ealkhan123@gmail.com instead of exploiting it.
6. Intellectual property
The Game, including its code, art, models, characters, music, text and trademarks, belongs to us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may create and share gameplay videos, streams and screenshots for non-commercial or monetised video-platform purposes, provided you do not suggest that we endorse you and you do not distribute the Game's files.
If you send us feedback or suggestions, you allow us to use them without obligation or payment to you.
7. Third-party platforms
Your use of Steam or any other platform, store or payment service is also governed by that provider's terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for third-party services, and they are not responsible for the Game.
8. Updates and availability
We may update, patch, change or remove features, content or balance at any time, and some updates may be required to keep playing. The Game may be in early access or development, so content may change and progress may occasionally be reset or lost. Online features are provided as available and may be interrupted for maintenance or other reasons. If we decide to end online features, we will give reasonable notice where possible.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end your access to online features or your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, or where required by law. You may stop using the Game at any time and may ask us to delete your account (see our Privacy Policy). Sections that by their nature should continue (for example intellectual property, disclaimers and limitation of liability) continue after termination.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Game is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or that the Game will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some countries do not allow these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Game. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Game is limited to the amount you paid us for the Game in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.
12. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Bahrain, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts. Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at ealkhan123@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it informally.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will change the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, give notice in the Game, on this page or through the store page. If you keep playing after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.
